The Lake District is an ideal place for fishing enthusiasts with a wealth of lakes, rivers and a selection of well-stocked fisheries as well as the sea, to keep you busy. You can catch salmon, pike, carp or trout and enjoy the breathtaking scenery while you fish. EuropeNorway is a country with breathtaking scenery and endless fishing opportunities. Enthusiastic anglers can fish for cod, coalfish and mackerel all along the coast, and salmon, sea trout and red char in many rivers. Freshwater lakes and ponds are abundant with pike, perch, eel, trout and char. The Irish coastline is over 3000 miles long and has some of the cleanest and clearest seas in Europe. In all, over 80 species can be caught from Ireland's seas and unusual warm-water species such as trigger fish, red mullet, red bream often turn up in catches. Ireland has also developed an excellent reputation for the quality of its pike fishing. There is no statutory close season for pike in Ireland and anglers may fish for pike all year round. And BeyondNew Zealand offers unlimited possibilities for both the fisherman and non-fishing companion. On the North Island, Lake Taupo and Rotorua are great locations for fishing but offer interesting options for the non fisherman. On the South Island, head for Nelson Lakes, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown, and Fiordland – you won’t be disappointed.
