A world of vibrant colours and beautiful creatures...

Under the sea lies another world – one of vibrant colours and strange and beautiful creatures, normally hidden from our view. It’s no surprise that diving is becoming such a popular choice of activity holiday and whether you are just embarking on the sport, or are already an experienced diver, you can find a diving holiday to match your requirements. If you’ve never dived before, there are a number of locations in the UK where you can learn or if you prefer, you can learn on holiday in a number of locations throughout the world.

Where to go?

UK

Many people learn to dive whilst on holiday in a far-flung tropical resort and don’t give a second thought to diving in the UK – far too cold! However, there are some great dive sites around the UK coastline and popular locations include Portland in Dorset, The Scilly Isles, The Farne Islands and St. Kilda.

Europe

Diving in Turkey is a relatively new activity and offers great value for money. Dives take place in a number of rocky coves and offer a mixture of wildlife-watching, scenic and historical interest. Artefacts from ancient civilisations can be seen on almost every dive.

Gozo is a beautiful island, still mostly unspoilt by tourism and is one of the top diving destinations in the Mediterranean. It offers warm crystal clear water and an abundance of marine life making it a diving photographer’s dream. Both Turkey and Gozo are suitable for all standards of diver from beginner to experienced.

And Beyond

Indonesia's dive sites are considered to be among the best in the world. Nearly a quarter of the world’s reefs are found here and there are over 3,500 species living on them. Common destinations to visit for diving are Bali, Lombok and Sulawesi. Sulawesi on the northern side of Indonesia is home to some beautiful coral reefs. Bali is a good choice if you want to combine a diving holiday with exploring inland as well.

Grenada is a beautiful Caribbean island with prolific marine life and many wrecks which distinguish the island as a world class dive destination. Tobago lies a short distance from Grenada and with a combination of fine coral reefs and a wonderful variety of species which includes a sharks and rays is justifiably popular with divers the world over. The island is more affordable than many Caribbean islands.

Whilst not quite as famous or grand as the Thistlegorm, the Victory is still a beautiful wreck, lots of marine life, with hard and soft corals now well established on it.Click Here
